The Story

The 20ha of vines of Château Saint-Paul are planted on a gravel soil dominating the gironde at the intersection of the superb terroirs of Haut-Médoc and Saint-Estèphe. Maitre de Chai Arnaud Vilette, true Médocain, expresses his passion for the art of wine making vintage after vintage. Just next to Sociando Mallet.

The Wine

50% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Cabernet Franc, 2% Petit Verdot

Its produces wines which, after 12 months’ maturation in French oak barrels are round, intensely avoured and velvety. They develop the traditional character of grand Médoc with a long ageing potential. 12 months in French oak of which 25% new, 25% of the wine is oaked in one year old barrels and 50% 2 years old. “rich blackcurrent fruit, good grip and length, good modern Haut-Médoc, Drink 2014 – 2020”. (Decanter) Perfect with roasted red meats, stews and strong cheeses.
