Château Marzin

AOC Blaye Côtes de Bordeaux

The Story

Pierre Marzin is a hermit who loves spending time on its own with Nikita and Belle ( his dogs and ulti- mately best friends!) in the middle of the 6 hectares. “He takes roots in his vineyards” says Sylvie his wife “he is happy here”. Pierre came to the wine business by conviviality and it became a passion. His friends helped him found work for his first har- vest in a chateau in the Bordeaux area. Followed a work experience in the winery and a first vintage scored by Parker ! The wines have since won an array of medals at the Concours General Agricole de Paris.

The Wine

50% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Cabernet Franc

This wine is full of red and black ripe fruits, subtle and round. With a good structure on the palate and well integrated tannins, it is well-made wine full of character.

Grandissime’s advice

“Wines are crafted in a fairly traditional way but Pierre Marzin believes that a wine should be “touched” as little as possible : no filtration, no fining. 12 to 14 months in French oak barrels.”
